TPACK Model

The TPACK Model is a balance between content, pedagogy, and technology in our lessons. The content of my lesson is AP Spanish Theme #3: Influences of art and how it is used to record history. In my lesson, students will learn how music was used to record history during Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship in Chile and his censorship of all media. The teaching strategy that I will use is reciprocal reading. In this activity, students will take turns reading a paragraph in the article with a partner and will help each other make sense of the reading material by annotating the main idea of each paragraph. Finally, my lesson integrates technology with YouTube and Padlet. With YouTube, students will be able to listen and watch a video of a song mentioned in the article. To make another connection and extend the lesson beyond one historical event, students will use Padlet to share the link to another song and write a brief description of the event captured in the song.
