Instructional Screencast
In my instructional screencast, I mainly review cultural products, practices, and perspectives, keeping the central theme of art as a form of protest. This lesson is geared toward an advanced class, AP Spanish Language and Culture. Therefore, I decided to use realistic images because simple images, or clipart, would not send the message I am trying to make. Art as a protest medium does not come in simple pictures. Paying attention to the Principles of Multimedia, I reduced the text to a minimum and had images appear after a few seconds of my introducing the content of the slide. I needed more than one image to deliver my content; these are stacked and appear one at a time to not overwhelm the students. The title slide is also an advanced organizer to which I refer back as I transition through the slides. The slide design includes only two font types and muted colors corresponding to the colors used on the advanced organizer.
