Lesson Plan / Google Classroom
The theme of this lesson is history through art, focusing on art as a protest medium. The lesson begins with an edited video that will awaken students' interest in the topic by showing images of protests in the streets of Colombia. Step two is a screencast lesson in which students will learn how to identify cultural products, practices, and perspectives using our focus theme. Step three is a formative assessment that will inform me if students understood what I presented in the screencast. If adaptation is needed, one option is to redirect students back to the screencast; this time adding focused comprehension questions as they advance through the video. The last step is a summative assessment in which students will demonstrate comprehension of all concepts presented in the previous steps. Ideally, I would add another form of practice between the formative and summative assessments.
